Statement of faith

SHAWIN is a Christ-centred organisation founded on the belief in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son (Jesus Christ), and Holy Spirit. We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, serving as our guide for faith and practice.

We affirm the dignity and worth of all people, created in God’s image. We believe humanity is broken by sin, but forgiveness and redemption are available through faith in Jesus Christ’s sacrifice.

The teachings of Jesus drive SHAWIN’s mission to love our neighbours and care for the least fortunate. We strive to demonstrate God’s love through our service and advocate for justice, (equal opportunity and access to life’s basic requirements, health and education) and compassion.

Matthew: 25:42-46, Proverbs 19: 17, Isaiah 58: 7-10.
